Bank holiday- no matter the weather

Making plans outdoors during the Great British summer time can often be tricky. A day predicted to rain can suddenly turn sunny, and a sunny day can end up cloudy - you can never be too sure. Thankfully the weather reports this bank holiday weekend are predicting the temperatures to rise and the sun to stay out! Hallelujah! But... we think it's best to have contingency plans.

We're in love with our brand new Holly Octagonal Parasol. Transcending trends, this timeless and beautiful natural white parasol has been designed with white scallop edges for subtle glamour. Like all of our Octagonal Parasols, Holly has been crafted with a frame made from FSC certified ash, handmade in Hampshire with our own designs of brass fittings and pulleys. This is the perfect parasol for a long alfresco lunch. Bliss.

Parasol Cocktails
With an extra day off this is the perfect excuse to shake and stir your favourite cocktails. It can be too easy to crack open a bottle of wine, rather than search for a handful of cocktail ingredients. Thankfully Cultured, have pulled together 15 Stylish Cocktails made with only 3 ingredients! So dust off your old glasses or splash out on some new ones - like the ones above from Serena Confalonieri.
We like this sundowner playlist for imagining we are at a beach club...
Rain or shine you can be transported to your favourite bar.

Is it really a bank holiday unless you go for a long walk? It’s the best way of getting that much needed blast of fresh air and having a lovely chat. Whether you want to walk off the night before, or head on a pub crawl - a long walk is good for the soul.
Download the OS Map app for a field based venture or the Randonautica app for urban serendipity... if you haven't heard of it then have a google- those who don't believe in magic will never find it.

Food is good for the soul, and who doesn't love a big get together (covid rules allowing). We love a platter and found the perfect one from Green Kitchen Stories, that is a healthy feast that you can add to! We also can't recommend Ottolenghi enough and all his wonderful recipes that can cater to a variety of palates and dietary requirements. Check out these recipes for colourful platters to share- leaving you healthier and happier than a takeaway...

Pamper guide for self care indoors

A day off is the perfect way to unwind and spend a bit of extra time on self care. That could mean checking yourself into a spa, but after the last year of lockdown we know it's possible to achieve this luxurious feeling at home.  Scent is key, and an electronic diffuser is a great way to set the mood, as well as a delicious candle. An opulent bath oil, a good salt scrub and bedtime magnesium body butter, are a scrumptious way to go into a deep zen.
With a bit of time you can source a sheet mask to erase 'lockdown face' or you can make nourishing facemasks at home.
